The Historic Motorcycle Racing Association of Victoria ( HMRAV ), was established in 1979 by a group of vintage racing enthusiasts. Since then, we have been promoting and organizing vintage motorcycling racing events throughout Victoria and are held at track locations including: Winton, Broadford, Phillip Island, as well as a couple of hill climb circuits.

Our events are designed to provide a fun day for all participants, under a relaxed social atmosphere.

Classic racing solo and sidecar machines, such as Norton, Triumph, AJS, Ducati, Arial, BSA, Vincent, Benelli are among a long list of brands participating.

Principle Events conducted

HMRAV promotes and conducts 4 feature weekend events each year. First being the Victorian Historic Titles, then Historic Winton 4 + 2, followed by The Southern Classic and Mt Tarrengower hill climb.

At each event a variety of machines compete, from pre-1920’s through to the 1980’s . Further information can be found under our class’s section of the website.

A red plate registry is available to club members with suitable machines.

Becoming a Member

Whilst HMRAV predominantly has competition riders as our members, you do not need to be a rider to become a member of HMRAV. We also have a number of officials who officiate at race meetings across the state. Their duties are varied and certainly rewarding. You may also purchase a Recreational Licence if you wish to practice but not race on the circuits.

There are many types of Licences available to prospective HMRAV members. Listed below are the different types of Licences, the cost, and a brief explanation about your entitlements.
